We have post-baccalaureate clinical research coordinator (CRC) positions available each year
to support the running of our studies and the day-to-day functions of an interdisciplinary lab.
These positions are most suited for individuals interested in gaining relevant research and
clinical training experiences before pursuing advanced degrees in clinical psychology and
related fields. They are designed to provide a unique training environment that integrates some
of the opportunities and experiences more typical for junior graduate students with those of a
standard research assistant position, thereby optimally positioning our CRCs for the next stage
of their career. These positions also provide an open environment in which CRCs can explore
and refine their interests, both in content area (e.g., immunopsychiatry of depression and/or
reward dysfunction in depression and co-occurring disorders) and career path (e.g., a PhD in
clinical psychology versus neuroscience). Although a primary interest in depression has positive
value, such interests are not required of CRCs. Rather, we look for applicants who demonstrate
character and potential to excel in our lab and beyond, regardless of their specific interests.
CRCs receive regular one-on-one meetings with our Principal Investigators to guide their
professional development (e.g., with the graduate school application process). Those who excel
in our lab are able to take advantage of unique training opportunities in producing posters for
presentation at professional conferences, peer-reviewed publications, and grant-writing (e.g.,
National Science Foundation [NSF] Graduate Research Fellowships).
This position will support studies being conducted by Dr. Naoise Mac Giollabhui and Dr.
Amanda Collins. These studies include both observational and experimental research, as well
as clinical trials, in depressed individuals. Further, these studies include a range of cutting-edge
self-report, behavioral, passive sensing, pharmacological, and immunological techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include: data collection and management; clinical interviewing; participant
recruitment, retention, and reimbursement; supervision of undergraduate volunteers; literature
reviews; phlebotomy, blood processing, immune cell population isolation techniques, and IRB
submissions and modifications. There may be opportunities to conduct independent research,
submit presentations to national conferences, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must have a bachelor's degree, strong writing, organizational, and
interpersonal skills, and be able to work autonomously as well within a collaborative team
environment. Experience with data management and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, REDCap,
Mplus, R) and with writing scripts in Python are preferred but not required. Psychology,
sociology, and pre-med majors are encouraged to apply, but all are welcome. Prior research,
particularly independent research projects, or clinical experience is strongly recommended.
Application information:
Interested applicants are invited to learn more about the position at “閱讀原文” and submit their
application through the portal there. Any questions regarding this position may be directed to us
at [email protected]. The deadline is rolling with a Summer 2025 start date.
