證明清白，興奮劑，光明正大
用英語怎麼說？
在連破紀錄，連拿金牌之後，潘展樂在國內火了，也引起了CNN的關注。
CNN之所以這麼關注他，是由於他表現出色，幫助中國隊終結了美國隊幾十年來，在游泳接力賽的連勝記錄。CNN報道的標題是：
Pan Zhanle: China’s internet explodes with pride at ending US swim relay reign – and a sense of vindication
潘展樂：終結美國游泳接力的統治地位，中國網際網路上爆發自豪感——以及得到正名的感覺
由於過去美國隊的表現遙遙領先，所以這裡用了reign一詞，表示a period of time during which someone is in a position of power or authority，即某人處於權力或權威地位的一段時間。reign可以用來形容美國隊在該專案上的長期優勢。
vindication的解釋是The feeling of having proved that what you did was right or true, after people have doubted you. 即在人們懷疑你之後，你終於證明了你所做的事情是正確或真實的感覺，在這裡指的是中國隊在經歷了爭議後獲得了勝利，證明自己是清白的。
在描述中國隊的這場勝利時，CNN是這樣寫的：
a spectacular win for a Chinese team that has faced intense scrutiny in the wake of a doping controversy
對於在興奮劑爭議之後受到嚴格審查的中國隊來說，這是一場精彩的勝利
scrutiny的意思是careful and thorough examination or inspection，即仔細觀察，詳細審查。這次中國隊受到的各種檢查是數量最多的，scrutiny這個名詞可以很好地反映出這種情況。
wake作名詞是，可以表示(船隻或其他物體在水中前行時留下的) 尾波，in the wake of引申自這個意思，表示緊隨其後。
最近，興奮劑這個詞出現得很頻繁。dope作名詞表示興奮劑，doping也可以作名詞，表示the use of drugs to improve performance in sports，即使用藥物來提高運動成績，服用興奮劑。
經常提到的興奮劑有類固醇，英文是steroid。

speak for itself這個說法表示it is clear and needs no further explanation，即很清楚，無需解釋，不言而喻。
fair and square是一個固定搭配，表示in an honest and fair manner，即以誠實和公平的方式，光明正大。
不言而喻，光明正大，要翻譯這兩個成語，是挺不容易的，而speak for itself和fair and square恰好對應這兩個成語。
有些看似很有中國特色的表述，其實英語裡也有對應的說法，平時多看多留意，就能把它們找出來。
