We are pleased to offer the seventh series of TESOL Master Class Webinars which will address Teaching English to Young Learners through innovative strategies led by, the English language specialist, Dr. Joan Kang Shin.  
This series will consist of six 90-minute live webinars taking place from March 14, 2025, which aims to explore innovative strategies for teaching English to young learners. The webinar series focuses on innovative and practical strategies for effectively teaching English to young learners, emphasizing engagement, meaningful learning experiences, and the integration of social-emotional learning and media literacy. Title: The Keys to Success in TEYL 
Teaching English to young learners (TEYL) is a rapidly growing field around the world, and English education is increasingly found at the primary levels. However, TEYL is more than just starting early—it’s about using the right strategies to ensure meaningful and effective learning. However, starting earlier is not necessarily the solution for producing effective English speakers. This engaging webinar will explore the key factors that influence second language acquisition in children, the unique characteristics of young learners, and practical approaches to integrating content and language in meaningful ways. By the end of this webinar, you have new ideas and strategies to create engaging, fun, and effective English learning experiences for your young learners!

Speaker Bio: Joan Kang Shin, Ph.D. is a Professor of Education in the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University in the United States. At George Mason, she is the Associate Dean for Faculty Success and the Director of the Global Online Teacher Education Center (GOTEC). She is an award-winning author and series editor for National Geographic Learning. Her titles include Breaking Through the Screen, Teaching Young Learners English, Our World, and Impact. In 2021, she was named one of the top 30 English Language Specialists by the U.S. Department of State in recognition of her lasting impact on the Specialist Program and the field of TESOL. She currently sits on the Board of Trustees for The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF).
