美國《綜藝》16日稱，美國娛樂公司Stars Collective在香港國際影視展上宣佈，正在根據中國古典名著《西遊記》改編動畫三部曲，分別是《八戒》《美猴王》和《哪吒》，旨在將東方神話展現給全球觀眾。
Stars Collective Film Entertainment Group is mounting an ambitious animated film trilogy based on Journey to the West, one of China's four great classical novels, the company revealed on the first day of Hong Kong FilMart.The trilogy — comprising Ba Jie, Monkey King and Ne Zha — aims to introduce and expand Eastern mythology to global audiences, building on recent successes in the space.
當下中國神話故事在全球娛樂領域備受關注：電子遊戲《黑神話：悟空》自2024年8月發行以來，在全球創下銷量2800萬份、收入12.5億美元的紀錄；今年春節檔的《哪吒2》全球票房超20億美元。
The project comes as Eastern mythology continues gaining traction in entertainment, with video game Black Myth: Wukong, which is based on Chinese mythology, hitting record-breaking sales of 28 million copies ($1.25 billion in revenue) since its August 2024 release, while Chinese New Year release Ne Zha 2 has passed $2 billion at the global box office.
作為中國四大名著之一的《西遊記》已經被翻譯成40多種語言，被視為“來自東方的《奧德賽》+《指環王》”。目前這個動畫專案正處於劇本開發階段，預計2026年開始製作，片方將使用人工智慧和動作捕捉技術創造“超現實的神話世界”。
Journey to the West, which has been translated into more than 40 languages, is described as an Eastern fusion of The Odyssey and The Lord of the Rings, spanning realms of gods, demons and humans. Currently in script development, the trilogy is set to commence production in 2026, using AI-generated animation and motion capture to create a hyper-realistic mythological world. Ba Jie will lead the series as the first production.
據報道，這部《西遊記》三部曲將深入探索經典名著中的標誌性角色，《八戒》將是首部作品，打破傳統上對於八戒的刻板印象，講述天蓬元帥跌落凡間的過程，揭示其“無憂無慮背後的忠誠和犧牲”。而《美猴王》則以“真假美猴王”為敘事核心，把六耳獼猴作為“映象”，見證孫悟空從“齊天大聖”到“鬥戰勝佛”的轉變。《哪吒》探討了“割肉還母、剔骨還父”的悲劇命運，聚焦哪吒身上反叛和救贖的主題，試圖用禪宗、哲學的思想重構哪吒“三頭六臂的戰鬥美學”。
Stars Collective的創始人皮特·羅表示：“我們不僅要改編經典故事，還要徹底改變東方神話在世界舞臺上的呈現方式。”這家娛樂公司計劃打造沉浸式的XR觀影體驗，提供動作感應和互動技術，觀眾可以親身體驗“大鬧天宮”“火焰山”等場景，“感觸到金箍棒、九齒釘耙和風火輪的震動”。
