Though silent, photography transcends language and borders, conveying emotions and ideas. The “American Photographers Explore Liangzhu” exhibition uses the camera as a brush and light as ink to illustrate the depth of Chinese culture and the spirit of the times, building a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the United States.
Jointly curated by the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Center and the North America Photography Association, the “American Photographers See Liangzhu” photography exhibition invited American photographers to focus on cultural landmarks in Zhejiang, such as the Liangzhu heritage site, West Lake in Hangzhou, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and Jianhu Lake in Shaoxing. Through their lenses, they captured the moments where history meets modernity. These works not only document Liangzhu—evidence of China’s 5,000-year-old civilization—but also showcase Zhejiang’s rich cultural heritage and innovative vitality, offering the audience a vivid window into understanding China.

Photography Tour Exhibition
The American Photographers Explore Liangzhu Photography Tour Exhibition, along with the Global Chinese New Year Photography Competition Award-Winning Works Exhibition, was successfully held in Zhejiang, China from March 25 to 31. Thirty photographers from various countries visited Hangzhou, Huzhou, and Shaoxing, using their lenses to engage in a dialogue with history and culture, while deeply exchanging and sharing their experiences throughout the journey. The event was co-hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Center and the North America Photography Association.
The organizers hope that through the art of photography, participants and viewers alike can experience the richness of China’s historical heritage and the vitality of its modern development. In doing so, the exhibition aims to deepen mutual understanding and cultural integration across nations, and to write a new chapter in China–U.S. cultural exchange.
The “American Photographers Explore Liangzhu” Photography Tour Exhibition officially opened on March 31 in Yuhang District, Hangzhou. Over 100 photographers from the United States, Russia, and China attended the award ceremony and the opening of the exhibition. This event was not only a visual feast, but also a vivid cross-cultural dialogue.
