INTRODUCTION TO THE PEDIATRIC ANXIETY RESEARCH CENTER
The Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC; located in Bradley Hospital in East Providence, RI and affiliated with
Brown Medical School) is an integrated research and clinical program internationally recognized in pediatric OCD and
anxiety. PARC encompasses research projects, outpatient services, and an Intensive Treatment Program for OCD. PARC
has continually received research funding since 1999 for treatment outcome, implementation, and comparative
effectiveness research.

PARC is looking for five full-time clinical research assistants to support federally funded research studies. All positions
are primarily in-person at Bradley Hospital in East Providence, RI. Commitment to at least two years in a position is
preferred. Mentorship and opportunities to participate and assist with academic tasks (e.g. poster presentations, writing
scientific articles for publication, and grant submissions) are provided. Duties common to all positions will include:

RESEARCH DUTIES

Recruiting, scheduling, and consenting research participants

Data entry, management and analysis

Preparing submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and/or Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Drafting study progress reports for funders

Participation in multidisciplinary discussions regarding research design and implementation

OPEN POSITIONS
NExT Study (1 position). This multisite study is testing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as an augmentation strategy for Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) for teens and young adults with OCD. The
study will enroll approximately 120 youth over five years. This position will include a balance of research duties
and clinical duties as described above. Additional duties will include behavioral coding of ERP therapy tapes and
administration of fMRI and neurocognitive tasks. Ability to travel between local study sites is required.

cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT) to youth with anxiety disorders and OCD. The study team is partnering with
multiple community health settings throughout Rhode Island to expand high quality exposure-based treatment for
youth who have been economically or socially marginalized and/or historically underrepresented in clinical science
and underserved in clinical practice. The study will enroll 500 youth over five years. These two positions will
primarily include research duties, with a smaller portion of time spent on clinical duties as described above.
Additional duties will include participation in engagement meetings with various partners including patients and
families, insurance payors, state health policymakers, providers, community health agency leadership, and
community engagement leaders. Ability to travel between local study sites is required. Ability to speak Spanish is

Harmony and BRAVE University (1 position). This position will support two studies. The Harmony study is
combining data from 28 past clinical trials and applying a novel statistical approach to determine “what works, for
whom” in pediatric OCD. BRAVE University is developing and testing an interactive, asynchronous training
platform for therapists learning to deliver exposure therapy. This position will include primarily research duties, with a smaller portion of time spent on clinical duties as described above. Additional duties include participation in
engagement meetings with various partners including business leaders, technology developers, insurance payors, and

QUALIFICATIONS

Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field preferably in psychology, human biology, neuroscience, or related fields.

A career interest in clinical psychology or related field.

Strong academic record.

Past research project experience (preferred)

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

The ability to work well with children and parents.

Willingness to tackle complex tasks independently.

Mental Health Services in High Poverty Urban Communities”.
