What is Chinese New Year？
The Spring Festival ： The Chinese Spring Festival, also called lunar(農曆的) New Year, comes on the first day of Chinese lunar calendar and ends with the Lantern Festival. Being one of the Chinese traditional festivals, it is the grandest and the most important festival for Chinese people.
春節 ，也叫“過年”，從農曆正月初一開始，到元宵結束。作為中國傳統節日，春節是中國最隆重、最重要的節日。
The Legend of Nian: It is said that the "Nian" (year) was a strong monster. People use red colour and fireworks or fire crackers to drive away "Nian". As a result the custom of using red colour and setting off fireworks remains.
年的傳說：中國古代有一種叫“年”的怪獸。人們用紅色或者煙花或者鞭炮可以把它嚇跑。後來，紅色和放鞭炮的習俗流傳了下來。

Family reunion dinner：團圓飯
red packets/ red envelopes/ lucky money：壓歲錢
