“I’mintheblack”是什麼意思？

關於各種顏色的英文表達，
相信大家都很熟悉，
比如：
red 紅、pink 粉紅、purple 紫色、green 綠色、blue 藍色、
black 黑色、white 白色、yellow 黃色、
orange 橙色、grey 灰色、silver 銀色、golden 金色、
beige 米色、brown 咖啡色、
scarlet 猩紅色、violet 紫羅蘭色。
不過我們今天要聊的不是色彩本身，
而是各種與色彩組成的英文短語，
意思大不相同：
                              01.I'm in the black
前幾天Tom說要請客吃大餐
並說了一句"I'm in the black"
同事看著Tom的藍色外套，
一臉不解地問：
“他不是穿著藍色衣服嗎？
怎麼說black？”
其實：
be in the black=（賬戶上）有錢，有盈餘
所以老外說“I'm in the black”
意思是“我有閒錢了”
這裡要重點提一下：in black 和 in the black 的區別：
in black=穿黑衣服
I am dressed in black today.
我今天穿的黑色衣服。
in the black=有盈餘, 沒有負債
例句：
I wish my accounts were in the black.
真希望我的賬戶裡有錢啊。
We moved the company into the black.
我們使公司扭虧為盈。
                        02.“in the red”是什麼意思？
和in the black意思相反，
in the red = 虧空；負債；有赤字，
因為老外喜歡用黑色筆來標記盈利，
用紅色的筆來表示虧損，
例：
Are we in the red this month?
我們這個月出現了赤字嗎？
                      03.“in the dark”是什麼意思？
in the dark表示：矇在鼓裡，渾然不知，
強調別人都知道，
就自己不知道，
被周圍的人矇在鼓裡，
也暗含某人應該知道，卻沒被通知
例：
We're clearly being kept in the dark，
 about what's happening.   
對於現在發生的狀況，
我們明顯被蒙在了鼓裡。
如果想表達“在黑暗裡”可以用in the darkness
例：
He lay in the darkness,
pretending to sleep.
他躺在黑暗中，
假裝睡覺。
