Adam (pseudonym) was banned and his membership cancelled by his local swimming pool (Sandow fitness, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province) simply because of his skin color.
"Over 50% of our customers can't accept black people swimming in the same pool as them" said the swimming pool manager.

The racist comments of the pool manager were captured on video as he explains that other customers 'cannot accept' black foreigners swimming in the same pool.

Video Transcript:

Pool Manager:

Why can't you use the pool? It's because more than 50% of the people here are local, and they can't accept black skinned people, black skinned foreigners swimming in the pool here.

Adam, from Liberia, had been a member at the Sandow fitness club swimming pool in Nanchang, Jiangxi province since last month.
After contacting the police to file a complaint, the police stated that it was a private establishment and there was nothing they could do.
But article 4 of China's constitution stipulates that "all ethnic groups in
the People's Republic of China are equal … discrimination and
oppression of any ethnic group is prohibited. It is forbidden to
undermine ethnic unity and create ethnic divisions."
Last year in Guangdong province after reports of racism against black foreigners the local government said service providers in the province were not
allowed to treat Chinese and foreigners differently, or discriminate
based on nationality, race, gender or skin colour.
However, instances such are these are still common especially in second or third tier Chinese cities.
After Adam posted his encounter on his Douyin, more racist comments followed:
"Usually carry AIDS"
"You can't forvce people to accept you, you should change yourself and go somewhere else if that place won't allow you"

"They are scared of AIDS'

"Absolutely support" (refusing service)
