王毅說，相互尊重是國與國交往的基本準則，也是中美關係的重要前提。任何一個國家都不能幻想一邊對華打壓遏制，一邊與中國發展良好關係。這種“兩面人”的做法不僅不利於雙邊關係的穩定，也無法建立起彼此的互信。
Mutual respect is important prerequisite for China-US relations. One should not fantasize that it can suppress China and maintain good relations with China at the same time.
王毅說，首先要講清楚，中國一貫堅決打擊販毒製毒，是當今世界禁毒政策最嚴格、最徹底的國家。早在2019年，我們就應美方請求，在世界上率先列管所有芬太尼類物質。而芬太尼在美國的濫用是美國自身要面對和解決的問題。中方本著人道主義精神，為美國提供了各種幫助，美方不應以怨報德，更不能無端加稅，這不是負責任的大國所為。
The abuse of fentanyl in the United States is a problem that must be confronted and resolved by the United States itself. The United States should not return good with evil, or even impose arbitrary tariffs.
王毅說，“行有不得，反求諸己”。美國應該覆盤一下，你們從這些年的關稅戰、貿易戰中得到了什麼？貿易逆差是擴大了，還是縮小了？製造業的競爭力是上升了，還是下降了？通脹是好轉了，還是惡化了？民眾的生活是變好了，還是變糟了？中美經貿關係是相互的、對等的。如果選擇合作，將實現互利共贏；如果一味施壓，中國必將堅決反制。
As the Chinese saying goes, "If one's action fails, look for the reason within oneself." The United States should go over what has actually happened:What has it achieved from tariff and trade wars these years? Has its trade deficit widened or narrowed? Has its manufacturing become more competitive or less competitive? Has US inflation gone up or down? Has the life of its people got better or worse?China-US business relations are based on two-way and reciprocal interactions. Cooperation will bring about mutual benefit and win-win, and China will definitely take countermeasures in response to arbitrary pressure.
