takes place regardless of whether you have been vaccinated with one of

“The procedure of the local health authorities, in particular the new blood test, is not uniform in this case.”
The Shanghai Health Commission did not respond to a request for comment.
In November, China started to insist that inbound passengers show a negative test for the antibody immunoglobulin M(IgM) – usually the first type of antibody produced against virus
infection – along with a negative Covid-19 test taken within 48 hours of
boarding.

The businessman said the rules did not appear to have been updated to take account of vaccinations.
“My
interpretation was that they simply failed to update the rule, the rule
being that in the past they didn’t have inbound arrivals that were
vaccinated,” he said.

The German businessman said he was relieved that the three days he spent in hospital counted towards the quarantine period.
He also recommended that future vaccinated inbound arrivals to Shanghai prepare some essential supplies.
“I went to hospital and there were no towels, they gave me a pillow cover as a towel because that’s what they had,” he said.
“Make
sure you take a towel, make sure you bring toilet paper, make sure you
order water, and you can sustain yourself during the hospital stay.”
