當地時間3月11日下午，5輛閃亮的特斯拉汽車停在白宮南草坪的車道上，取代了往日黑色SUV組成的總統車隊，供特朗普檢閱。而特朗普真的當場選購了一輛全新的特斯拉Model S電動汽車，還是紅色的。
US President Trump stepped into a car outside the White House on Tuesday afternoon. Instead of the presidential motorcade of large, black SUVs lined up on the driveway of the South Lawn, there were five Teslas for Trump to peruse.Trump effectively held a combination press conference and live Tesla ad outside the White House, accompanied by the company's CEO and Department of Government Efficiency Head Elon Musk – all in front of a line of shiny Tesla vehicles.

白宮X賬號釋出帖文，曬出特朗普、馬斯克與其小兒子X以及特斯拉的合照，馬斯克釋出了特朗普坐進Model S的照片。
前一天晚上，特朗普在“真實社交”平臺上表示，馬斯克為了美國全力以赴，做得非常出色。然而左翼激進人士“試圖非法共謀抵制特斯拉——這家世界頂級汽車製造商，也是埃隆的‘寶貝’，以攻擊和傷害埃隆，以及他所代表的一切”。

紐約股市三大股指10日大幅下跌，其中納斯達克綜合指數跌幅為4.00%。據美聯社報道，特斯拉跌超15%，跌至222.15美元，這是自去年10月以來該公司的股價最低，也是自2020年9月以來最大的跌幅。
Tesla shares fell 15.4 percent to $222.15 on Monday, the lowest the company's shares have been since October and the steepest drop since September 2020, The Associated Press reported.

"That's beautiful."Trump told reporters that he would write a check for the car, which retails for roughly $80,000, and leave it at the White House so his staff can drive it. The president also said he hopes his purchase will boost Tesla, which is struggling with sagging sales and declining stock prices.

Donald Trump turned the South Lawn of the White House into a temporary Tesla showroom. Because of ethical restraints, it is extremely rare for a senior government official, let alone a sitting president, to endorse a consumer product so explicitly.
