5月28日，拜登第五次回到了特拉華大學參加畢業典禮，這是他首次以美國第46任總統的身份向母校的畢業生髮表演講，也是特拉華大學第一次有美國總統作為演講嘉賓。

拜登回顧了自己的大學經歷，他說作為一個來自特拉華州小鎮的普通青年，他其實從未想過可以成為美國總統。正是大學的經歷讓他做出了改變！

在演講中，拜登鼓勵年輕人實現理想：“ 現在是你們的時代了！你們這一代人比任何人都更需要回答這些問題：我們是誰? 我們代表什麼? 我們相信什麼?我們會變成誰? ”

他說：

“ This is no time to be on the sidelines,” Biden said. “Because here’s the simple truth: You're graduating and entering the world at a momentous and consequential and defining time. The next 10 years of your life are going to determine what the next 50 years of this nation are going to look like. We're at one of those inflection points in history where things are changing so fundamentally that we have to act. ”

“ If I had to name one quality that mattered across the many dimensions of achievement and talent, it would be persistence: the ability and drive to keep going when things get hard. All of us go through difficult times. To achieve our goals we have to find ways to continue even when — indeed, especially when — obstacles seem insurmountable or endless, and pressing onward feels exhausting, daunting, or just plain dull. ”

耶魯校長：謙遜，勇於承認錯誤

5月23日，耶魯大學校長Peter Salovey發表了致耶魯本科學院2022屆畢業生的畢業演講，主題為 “ 論思想上的謙遜 ”（ On Intellectual Humility ）。

他提到，這些接受過最優秀教育的年輕人，毋庸置疑，都已經做好了準備離開母校，去讓世界變得更好。但是，他希望耶魯的畢業生在這個充滿成就感的日子裡認識到，思想上的謙遜也無比重要。他的演講主題是承認未知的勇氣，承認我們的錯誤和改變我們的想法。

他說，智慧植根於接受他人帶給你的想法的意願，或者說是責任。仔細聆聽，批判性地思考，挑戰自己的觀點，然後為了發現真理而去改變。

希拉里：維護和保護民主！

5月18日，前美國國務卿、第一夫人希拉里·克林頓在哥倫比亞大學畢業典禮上2022發表簡短的即興演講。

她談到了大家在新冠疫情的大背景下面臨的挑戰，祝賀學生們順利畢業，更重要的是鼓勵和呼籲年輕人追求需要努力確保正義、平等、自由，維護和保護民主。

“ First…first, let me add my congratulations to all of you for this extraordinary accomplishment under challenging, unprecedented circumstances. And secondly, let me ask you – really, beseech you – to take this extraordinary, world-class education and not only put it to work in the service of your own dreams, as important as those are, but also as a citizen – a citizen who believes that everyone is entitled to the same kind of education, that there is work to be done to ensure justice, equality, freedom, and, yes, to preserve and protect democracy. Congratulations! ”
