車主們注意！ 多倫多市政府近日宣佈，將把街道上的自動測速攝像頭從75臺增加至150臺，覆蓋範圍更廣，重點盯住超速高發路段！
根據資料表明，在2021年，僅75臺攝像頭就開出了近23萬張罰單，罰款金額從$60-$718加元不等，嚴重超速者還可能被吊銷駕照！
不少市民質疑，這些測速攝像頭是否真的在降低事故率，還是變成了政府的“搖錢樹”？
多倫多交通服務總經理Barbara Gray表示，“測速攝像頭的目標不是賺錢，而是提高安全性”。
多倫多新增的測速攝像頭目前已陸續安裝，並且分為兩種：
【25臺固定式攝像頭】永久守在特定路口，24小時監控超速
【50臺輪換式攝像頭】每3至6個月更換位置，打擊慣犯司機。
為了避免多倫多司機抱怨“突如其來的罰單”，市府已提前90天設立警示標誌！！
除了測速攝像頭，市府還計劃擴大自動執法範圍，未來可能會在TTC街車上安裝攝像頭，抓拍無視街車停靠訊號的司機；加強公交專用道監控，打擊違規佔道行為！

儘管測速攝像頭計劃如火如荼，但一些道路安全倡導者認為：僅靠攝像頭並不能真正解決問題，關鍵在於道路設計！！！
在多倫多的Parkside Drive超速現象嚴重，但測速攝像頭幾乎不起作用！
道路安全組織 Safe Parkside 聯合主席表示：“當一條路設計得像高速時，測速攝像頭是無法阻止超速的。”
