2024 Business Development Associate
*Not a paralegal role, no legal knowledge required*
Job Duties:
Client Acquisition (30% – 40%): Utilize sales skills and general legal knowledge to acquire clients consistently. You will often find yourself working with the legal team and other teams during the client acquisition process, which normally involves:
  • Initial contact via various channels
  • Meeting coordination, general Q&As, notetaking
  • Proposal and retainer agreement drafting
  • Regular client follow-ups and problem-solving
Business Intelligence (30% – 40%): Analyze leads and clients, study market trends and competitor strategies, then work with corresponding teams to:
  • Inform revenue growth strategy
  • Conduct potential client outreach
  • Innovate new products or services
Customer Success (20% – 30%): Enhance client loyalty and customer experience by:
  • Tracking customer and client feedback
  • Managing client expectations, preventing and solving confusion and frustrations
  • Conducting crisis PR as needed
Partner Relationship (10%): Identify, build, and maintain partnerships with service providers in the industry.
Job Requirements:
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a problem-solving and out-of-the-box mindset.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably bilingual in Mandarin and English.
  • Ability to actively listen and ask the right questions.
  • Capable of handling pressure and formulating plans under emergency circumstances.
  • Curiosity to resolve complex issues efficiently and creatively.
  • Experience using Microsoft and Google Suite in a professional setting. Experience with CRM software is a plus.
  • Professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English. Excellent copywriting and research skills are preferred.

Business Development Intern
Becoming a Business Development Associate will allow you to utilize your excellent interpersonal and CRM skills to get prospective clients on board, coordinate between clients and the legal team, and analyze collected data to extract useful intelligence.
Job Duties:
  • Answering inbound inquiries via phone calls, emails, WeChat, etc.
  • Collecting and intaking necessary information from the leads.
  • Communicating with leads and business partners from time to time.
  • Setting up meetings and phone calls for attorneys. Dealing with any unexpected technical issues, and following up timely with the attorneys after the meetings.
  • Researching certain topics related to legal/business outreach/customer events. Drafting summaries or proposals based on the research.
  • Translating (English and Mandarin) documents and phone calls.
  • Any ad hoc tasks assigned by your manager.
Job Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in the US (we do not require a law school background)
  • Having an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Interested in sales skills and data analysis
  • Curious to learn more about the dynamics of businesses
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
