英文中有特別多的“熟詞偏義”的表達，
看似每個單詞都認識，
連在一起就不知道是什麼意思！
比如今天我們要學習的幾個短語，
看似都很簡單，
可不要理解錯了哦！
意思是：世事難料；
很難說;
可以理解為
you can never be certain;
it's impossible to predict.
【解釋】
You say "You never know" or
"One never knows" to indicate ，
that it is not definite or certain what will ，
happen in the future,
and to suggest that there is some hope，
that things will turn out well.
Don’t throw away those old stamps.
You never know,
they might be valuable one day.
不要把那些舊郵票扔掉。
誰知道呢，
也許有一天它們會很值錢。
I know you don't think your grades are good ，
enough to be accepted,
but you never know,
maybe they'll be really impressed by your application essay.
我知道你認為你的成績不足以被錄取，
但很難說，
也許他們真的會對你的申請文章印象深刻。
02. God knows
還有類似的表達：Heaven knows
goodness knows
有兩層意思：
（1）只有天知道，相當於
No one knows (except for God/Heaven/Goodness).
（2）老天爺知道某事是真的，
相當於God/Heaven/goodness knows it is absolutely true,
certain, or obvious that…
【解釋】
1.People use expressions such as goodness knows,
Heaven knows, and God knows ，
when they do not know something ，
and want to suggest that nobody ，
could possibly know it.
2.It is absolutely true, certain,
or definite that; it is obvious or clear that.
【例句】
God knows how long it will take for ，
my application to be processed.
天知道我的申請處理需要多長時間。
A: How do you think you did on your exam?
B: God knows!
A: 你覺得你考試考得怎麼樣？
B: 不知道。
意思是：你想像不出/你不知道
【解釋】
You can say "You don't know"
in order to emphasize how strongly you feel about the remark you are going to make.
【例句】
You don't know how good，
it is to speak to somebody from home.
你不知道跟家裡來的人說說話有多好！
【例句】
A: I'll be on my way.
I can't thank you enough.
B: It's nothing, but take care.
A: 我要上路了。感激不盡。
