Snubs are not exactly uncommon during awards season, but on Tuesday the Oscar nominations pulled off what can only be described as a turbosnub.
Barbie scooped eight nominations overall, but 'Barbie' Margot Robbie and the film's director Greta Gerwig, the two women who spearheaded the blockbuster hit, didn't make the cut in their respective categories — a fact that had a lot of people scratching their heads, including Margot Robbie’s co-star.
Ryan Gosling，who secured a thumbs up in the best supporting actor category for his role as Ken, described it as an “understatement” to say he was “disappointed” that Gerwig and Robbie were not nominated in their respective categories.
