Join us at the Beijing American Center for Coffee with a Diplomat with this month’s guest, Dr. Ashley Van Batavia. Dr. Van Batavia works as an Agriculturalist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), and has been posted to the U.S. Embassy in China since 2022. Before joining APHIS International Service, Dr. Van Batavia worked as a public health veterinarian and as a biological anthropologist conducting research on non-human primates in Costa Rica, Bolivia, and the Republic of Congo. Grab a cup of coffee and join Dr. Van Batavia as she discusses her background, experience, and current duties and answers your questions about life as a diplomat in China.

This event will be conducted in English. You must be 18 years or older to attend. Coffee and cookies will be served.
